The CPMR Process…..

Ever wondered what happens to your item once it has been brought in for repair?

Most Customers normally contact us via Email, Telephone or social media connect. At this point one of our Office team will try to establish the item you have, its issues and if it’s a viable repair. Sometimes it’s difficult to gather all these details due to the condition of the item or challenges with access to its current location and we will advise you to bring it into the workshop.

Items can be dropped off between 08:30 and 17:00 Monday to Friday with no booking necessary. If your item requires specific turnaround times then please ensure you have contacted the office to make arrangements for a engineer to be booked out. Once you have left the item with us, we pop a tag on it and book it into the workshop. The question we are asked the most at this point is ‘how long is it going to take?’ On average we receive 10-20 items for inspection per day, some of them take a lot longer to inspect than others, but we always do our best to turn them around as quickly as we can for you.

The engineers work through the jobs, carefully cleaning, dismantling and inspecting each individual component. During this process, they will put together a list of replacement parts required and the amount of time they expect the job to take, and this information is then sent over to the quotation team.

We have a huge amount of generic stock items to carry out repairs although many parts will need to be sourced from manufacturers or specialist stockists of particular brands. As we have been in the industry for over 40 years, we have favourable discounts from many suppliers, helping us to keep costs down. Once we have determined all the prices and the lead times, we will send you over a quotation either by email or a call if preferred.

Once you have given us the go ahead, we get the parts on order and the job underway. On completion and after testing, the job card is returned to the office, and we let you know the item is ready for collection. If you decide not to go ahead with the repair, we can either box up your dismantled item ready for you to collect or we will scrap the item for you.

FAQ’S

How much will it cost to repair my motor?

It’s very difficult to offer a quotation without inspecting the item first. We can offer a ball park figure if we know the frame size, the KW/HP and speed of the motor. There are, however, many factors that can affect the costs. Specialist bearings, bearing housing repairs or shaft repairs can all impact on the costs to repair.

How long is it going to take?

Once inspected we request part prices and lead times on those part. Some items must be sent to us from manufacturers as far as Italy or Germany, as very few pumps or motors are British built. If we have all of the required parts, we complete it as soon as the quote engineer has an available slot. We do note an expected lead time on the quotation so you can see the likely timeframe for the works to be complete.
